Urgent Actions are issued where speed of response is essential - some types of abuse such as torture are most likely to occur in the first few days after a prisoner is taken into detention.
This is not a group campaign in the usual sense: Amnesty International
members participate individually, either by receiving and acting
on Urgent Actions personally or by pledging a minimum of £12 for
the UK office to send appeals on their behalf.
If you are interested in joining the scheme, please address your application to Ray Mitchell, Amnesty International, 99-119 Rosebery Ave, London EC1R 4RE - or to get further details click here.
