Daw Aung San Suu Kyi

Burma (Myanmar)

Martial law and the house arrest of the opposition leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi have been well documented in the international press. We work on the case of student leader Min Ko Naing imprisoned for taking part in non-violent demonstrations in support of democracy.

Death Penalty

AI is opposed to the use of the Death Penalty in all circumstances and actively works towards its abolition worldwide. To achieve this we write letters to government officials, members of the legal profession and other relevant persons.

Stop Violence Against Women

Our new campaign to bring an end to fear of violence for women.

Urgent Action

The Urgent Action network responds in a timely fashion on cases where there is fear of an immediate risk to a detainee of ill treatment.
